Biko Zulu meets theatre… for BREATHE

There are bloggers and then there are writers who tell a story and you can almost visualize the entire piece. Biko Zulu belongs to the latter.

For a long time I’ve been wondering when his work will be brought to life through theatre or film. Well, finally Biko meets theatre. The best of both worlds have finally decided to take us back to basics.

The play “BREATHE” is based on Jackson Biko’s work and is set to hit the stage next month performed by top Kenyan talented cast of Nick Ndeda (18 hours lead cast & Hot 96 Radio Host), Wanjiku Mburu (Actress in Machachari as Mama Baha), Bokeba Mbotela, Mwaura Bilal (Trade Center & Guy Center TV series), Daisy Temba, Mwikali Mary (KTN TV Host), Gilbert Lukalia (Award winning actor & Director), Martin Githinji (Sue na Jonnie actor & Seeds of Gold Host) and Wakio Mzenge (Actress in My Two Wives that airs in KTN).

Biko has teamed up with literally some of the best in the business. BREATHE has been produced by Masuti Mwalimu with Gilbert Lukalia as the director. It’s stage managed by Ruth Red Nyamwathi and created by Mbeki Mwalimu.

Based on the drama portrayed in Biko’s blogs, this play promises to be one for the books.
